Catmint, Catnip

Here is some catmint, for Nene, who likes to know what can grow in sandy soil. It's also known as catnip, so if you plant it, the neighborhood (or feral) cats will like it, too. Or, as Wikipedia says, enjoy it as a "recreational substance."

(This is public domain catnip.)

I will be in retreat for a few days, and not posting. But I will still be writing a poem a day and probably eating cupcakes & drinking wine.

I would love to have a cat garden...my cats go nuts over it. It is adorable.

Have a good weekend, Kathleen!

Also good in sandy soil (I grew up calling it "sharp" soil) is lavender. Enjoy your retreat!

When I read "Catnip", I suddenly thought of the Hunger Games. This is a great post.
